I’M ENGAGED, NOW WHAT?

Congratulations, you’re engaged, yay! We’re literally squealing for excitement with you! But, now what? ENJOY YOUR Take some time to enjoy the engagement period, for as long as you need or want to, after all, this is only gonna happen once. Relish in the fact that the person of your dreams just proposed and you get to spend the rest of your life together! Where to start, how to begin? We’ve got some fabulous tips to help you plan ahead, because, well, how many times have you planned your own wedding?

Pick Your Date

We know, the minute that ring is on your finger you want to go run out to the closest bridal shop and start trying on dresses, but…is that really the first thing you should do? After you’ve come down from your engagement high, you’re going to want to set your wedding date/year, or at least have a ball park month or two that you’re hoping for, depending on the venue of course. Some things to take into consideration when choosing your wedding date: Time of year, anticipated weather, work/school schedule, will you have out of town guests, is it wedding busy season? (typically that’s from October through March, here in Arizona)

Find Your Venue

What’s your wedding style or do you know what your wedding style is? If you don’t know yet, you will soon. But let’s chat about venues. Venues have changed so much in the last 10 years. Think about you and your bride/groom to be and what’s important to you both. Will your venue be all inclusive? Do you want a large dance floor? Do you want a daytime or evening wedding? Do you want the ceremony to be at the same space as the reception? What kind of food do you want? Do you want a DJ or a band? Will you have children attending your wedding? Will your out of town guests need transportation to the venue or do you want to host your wedding at one of our beautiful resorts? Wherever you book, make sure it fits you as a couple and achieve the vision you’re hoping for.

Start Gown Shopping

Once you’ve selected your date and your venue, it’s the perfect time to start the gown shopping process. With so many bridal shops to choose from, how do you decide? Check out store websites and read their reviews. You can always ask your friends where they went, but just keep in mind, what worked for them, may not work for you. Every bride is different and every bridal shop has different things to offer, although we all have gorgeous gowns. What does each store offer you? How do their appointments work? Do you want to shop at a large big box bridal shop or at the shop that offers one on one private appointments? Know the gown shopping process and what your time frame is. Your bridal shop will be with you all the way to the big day!
